Sabarimala Pilgrimage: Key Updates on Spot Booking and Security Arrangements
- Spot
     Booking Cap:
 - Spot
      bookings at Sabarimala are limited to 5,000 pilgrims per day from January
      8 to January 15.
 - January 14 (Makaravilakku Day): spot- bookings capped at 1,000.
 
- The
      restriction follows a directive from the Kerala High Court to
      prevent overcrowding and ensure efficient crowd management.
 
- Virtual
     Queue Booking Limits:(online bookings are completed) 
 - Bookings
      on the Devaswom Board website are capped as follows: 
 - 60,000
       on January 12
 - 50,000
       on January 13
 - 40,000
       on January 14
 
- Devotee
     Guidelines:
 - Devotees
      are advised not to camp on the hillock to avoid congestion.
 - Inspections
      will be conducted at Nilakkal before allowing pilgrims to proceed
      to Pampa.
 
- Restrictions
     in Parnasalas:
 - Cooking
      and other activities in the parnasalas (pilgrim shelters) are
      restricted from January 10 to manage the crowd for Makaravilakku
      Jyoti.
 
- Enhanced
     Security Arrangements:
 - Security
      has been strengthened at key locations for Jyoti Darshan.
 - The
      Kerala Police has implemented crowd control and safety measures to ensure
      a smooth and secure pilgrimage experience.
 
Record Pilgrim Turnout
- Ongoing
     Pilgrimage Season (as of January 5):
 
- 39,02,610
      devotees have visited since the start on November 15.
 
- This
      surpasses last year’s count of 35,12,691 visitors during the same
      period.
 
- Makaravilakku
     Season:
 - Since
      its commencement on December 30, 6,22,849 pilgrims have
      visited the shrine.
