Sabarimala Pilgrimage: Virtual Queue, Spot Booking, Accommodation & Key Guidelines

Sabarimala Opened for Mandala Kalam on 16 November 2025

To assist pilgrims who are unable to secure a Virtual Queue slot for Sabarimala darshan, spot booking facilities will be provided at Pampa, Nilakkal, Vandiperiyar–Sathram, and Chengannur.

The aim is to allow 70,000 pilgrims per day through the Virtual Queue and 20,000 through spot booking.

Virtual Queue bookings must be made through the official website sabarimalaonline.org.

Pilgrims opting for spot booking will receive a pass with a QR code containing all necessary information.

Accommodation Facilities

Sannidhanam has 540 rooms across various buildings for the stay of pilgrims.

The Sabari Guest House alone has 56 rooms, in addition to 5 cottages and 12 virisheds.

A total of 146 rooms have been allotted for officials from various departments, and a separate barrack has been constructed for police personnel.

How to Book Rooms

Pilgrims can book rooms and offerings (vazhipadu) online through www.onlinetdb.com under the Accommodation section.

You can also book offerings such as:

Udayasthamana Pooja

Padi Pooja

Sahasrakalasam

Kalabhabhishekam

Ushah Pooja

Ucha Pooja

Athazha Pooja

Neyyabhishekam

These can be booked along with the Virtual Queue ticket.
Children below 5 years do not require booking.

Darshan Timings

Temple opens at 3:00 AM for darshan.

Closes at 1:00 PM after Ucha Pooja.

Reopens at 3:00 PM.

Final closing is at 11:00 PM with the Harivarasanam recital.

The temple remains open for 18 hours a day for darshan.

Even if the temple closes at 1 PM and again after the night closing, pilgrims already in the queue will be allowed to climb the 18 holy steps. They can later proceed via the northern gate when the temple reopens for darshan.

This arrangement is meant to reduce congestion.

Heart Attack Relief Scheme

The Travancore Devaswom Board has launched a new scheme offering ₹3 lakh financial assistance to the families of pilgrims who die due to heart-related issues during the pilgrimage.

To fund this, a ₹5 fee has been added to Virtual Queue booking—though this payment is not mandatory.

Insurance Coverage Across Kerala

All pilgrims who book through the Virtual Queue will receive accidental death insurance coverage of ₹5 lakh without any premium.

If a pilgrim dies:

Ambulance expenses within Kerala: up to ₹30,000

Ambulance expenses to other states: up to ₹1,00,000

These expenses will be covered by the Devaswom Board.

Parking at Nilakkal

Nilakkal is the main parking hub for Sabarimala pilgrims, located 23 km from Pampa, with space for 8,500 vehicles.

At Pampa, limited parking is available at Hilltop and Chakkupalam.

FASTag Payment System

Parking fees at Nilakkal, Chakkupalam, and Hilltop can be paid through FASTag:

Buses: ₹100
