Hindu Aikya Vedi Demands Judicial Inquiry into Sabarimala Pilgrim's Electrocution Death


Pathanamthitta: Hindu Aikya Vedi - Working President Valsan Thillankeri has demanded a judicial inquiry into the incident in which Bharatamma, a native of Telangana, died after being electrocuted by a drinking water kiosk at Sabarimala. He demanded that a case be filed for murder against those responsible for the death caused by the negligence of the authorities and He also called on the Travancore Devaswom Board to provide a compensation of ₹25 lakh to the family of the deceased devotee,


During the last pilgrimage season, a pilgrim died due to electric shock in Vadasserikkara. Valsan Thillankeri, in a statement, alleged that the Devaswom and government systems had failed to provide safe pilgrimage facilities for devotees at Sabarimala.


The Devaswom Board and the insurance company should clarify how much insurance money has been paid to Sabarimala accident victims and others till date. He also demanded immediate intervention by the High Court.
