Approval Granted by State Wildlife Board for Sabarimala Ropeway Project
Pathanamthitta: The Sabarimala ropeway project has received approval from the State Wildlife Board. The decision was made during an online meeting chaired by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. The project will now be submitted to the central government for final approval. The ropeway will facilitate the transportation of goods and ambulance services from Pamba to Sannidhanam. The 2.7-kilometer ropeway is estimated to cost up to ₹180 - ₹250 crores, Designed to carry 40,000 to 60,000 tonnes of materials annually, the system will reduce congestion on the Swami Ayyappan Road by replacing tractor-based transport.
