Construction of New Navagraha Sreekovil at Sabarimala Commences with Foundation Stone Ceremony
Sabarimala, June 5, 2025: The foundation stone laying ceremony for the new Sreekovil dedicated to the Navagrahas (nine planetary deities) was held at Sabarimala today. The ritual, conducted at 8:30 AM, was jointly performed by Travancore Devaswom Board President P.S. Prashant, Board Member Adv. A. Ajikumar, and Sabarimala Thantri Kandararu Brahmadathan. The new Sreekovil is being constructed near Malikappuram.
The decision to relocate and rebuild the Navagraha Sreekovil at a more suitable location was made in accordance with the findings of a recent Devaprasnam (astrological consultation). The Travancore Devaswom Board aims to complete the construction before the onset of Uttarayana.
The ceremony was attended by key officials, including Sabarimala Executive Officer B. Murari Babu, Administrative Officer Biju V. Nath, and Executive Engineers Shyam Prasad and Rajesh Mohan.
