BJP Slams Stalin’s Invite to Global Ayyappa Summit as ‘Insult to Hindus’
Thrissur: BJP state president Rajeev Chandrasekhar strongly criticised the participation of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin in the upcoming Global Ayyappa Summit, terming it an “insult to Hindus.”
Speaking to the media in Thrissur, Chandrasekhar alleged that the summit, organised under the leadership of the Pinarayi Vijayan government, was a political farce aimed at misleading devotees ahead of elections. He accused the Left Democratic Front (LDF) and its ally, the DMK, of undermining the traditions of Sabarimala and insulting the faith of Ayyappa devotees.
“It is a great irony that the CPM and DMK, who are part of the INDIA alliance, are participating in an event connected with Sabarimala. Their so-called Global Ayyappa Summit is nothing but hypocrisy,” Chandrasekhar said.
Drawing sharp comparisons, he remarked that the situation was akin to “Hitler standing up for Jews” or “Osama bin Laden becoming an apostle of peace.” He further alleged that for years, the LDF government had shown disregard for Sabarimala rituals and devotees, even imprisoning many.
Chandrasekhar also targeted Stalin and his son, Udhayanidhi Stalin, accusing them of openly insulting Sanatana Dharma and Hindu beliefs for political gains. “Now, the same people are attempting to project themselves as protectors of devotees when elections are near. People of Kerala and Tamil Nadu are fully aware of these strategies and will not be deceived anymore,” he said.
The BJP leader added that the INDI alliance past statements and actions against Hindu traditions would not be forgotten by the people. He emphasised that the Global Ayyappa Summit, instead of being a spiritual congregation, was being turned into a political platform by the ruling parties
