Unnikrishnan Potti Defends Himself Amid Sabarimala Gold Sheet Controversy
Thiruvananthapuram: In the Sabarimala gold sheet controversy, Unnikrishnan Potti said that he is not guilty. He said that the media is trying to destroy him. One’s privacy should not be disturbed. At this time, it is not right to trouble me and my family as ordinary people. The case is in the High Court. Unnikrishnan Potti told the media that he will submit documents as required by the High Court.
The court will decide whether his actions are right or wrong. The Devaswom Vigilance investigation is ongoing. Once the investigation is completed and the facts are understood, he will give a clear response, Unnikrishnan Potti told the media in Thiruvananthapuram.
“I am not a wrongdoer. The court has not punished me. The media should cooperate to protect privacy. This is a house in my mother’s name. Privacy is something every human desires. The court has not declared me guilty. At this time, it is not right to trouble me and my family as ordinary people. The case is in the High Court. I will submit documents as required by the High Court. The court will decide whether my actions are right or wrong,” said Unnikrishnan Potti.
Meanwhile, regarding the Sabarimala gold sheet issue, Travancore Devaswom Board President S. Prashanth said that there was a lapse at the official level in 2019. The gold sheet should never have been handed over to Unnikrishnan Potti. There was a lapse on the part of officials in giving it away. He said that all matters from 1999 to 2025 should be investigated and all facts should come out.
The Devaswom Board does not have a clear understanding of who Unnikrishnan Potti is. He himself started the discussions. They are happy about that. Unnikrishnan Potti tried to corner the Devaswom Board, but he fell into that pit himself. The Devaswom Board’s position is that a comprehensive investigation into all matters should be conducted and requested from the court, he said.
