Kannadiga Pilgrim Saves Life During Sabarimala Yatra

A Kannadiga pilgrim saved the life of a man from Chennai who suffered a cardiac arrest during the Sabarimala pilgrimage by promptly performing CPR in a forest stretch.

The incident occurred on the forest path leading to the Sabarimala shrine when the Chennai-based devotee collapsed and lost consciousness. Prabhakar Shetty, a hotel entrepreneur from Gokak in Karnataka, noticed the emergency and immediately administered cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), which helped revive the man.

A video of the incident, showing the devotee receiving emergency assistance from a fellow pilgrim, has been circulating on social media over the past two days.

Officials from the Sabarimala Devaswom Board stated that they have not yet received any formal report regarding the incident within the temple premises. Arun, an official of the Devaswom Board, said the matter would be verified.
