SCR Announces Special Train Services for Sabarimala Pilgrims from December 13
Hyderabad: To accommodate the heavy influx of devotees travelling to Sabarimala, the South Central Railway (SCR) has announced special train services between December 13 and January 2. These services will connect various stations within the SCR zone to Kollam Junction in Kerala, providing smoother travel options during the peak pilgrimage season.
According to a statement issued by railway authorities on Tuesday, December 2, a total of ten special trains—covering both onward and return journeys—will operate during this period.
The first service, Sirpur Kagaznagar–Kollam Special Train (No. 07117), will depart on December 13. En route to Kollam, it will stop at major stations including Bellampalli, Mancherial, Ramagundam, Peddapalli, Jammikunta, Warangal, Kesamudram, Mahabubabad, and Khammam, before proceeding via Vijayawada and Tirupati.
Additionally, SCR will operate two Charlapalli–Kollam special services (Train Nos. 07119 and 07121) on December 17, 20, and 31. These trains will run through Secunderabad, Begumpet, Lingampalli, Shankarpalli, Vikarabad, and Tandur, and then continue via Guntakal, Chittoor, and Katpadi before reaching Kollam.
The Hazur Sahib Nanded–Kollam Special Train (No. 07123) is scheduled to depart on December 24. It will pass through Nizamabad, Armoor, Korutla, Jagtial, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Jammikunta, Warangal, and Khammam, and then travel onward through Vijayawada, Tirupati, and Kottayam.
Return services from Kollam Junction to Charlapalli are planned for December 15, 19, 22, 26, and January 2, ensuring devotees have convenient options for their journey back.
SCR has advised passengers to check detailed timings and seat availability in advance and make necessary travel arrangements accordingly.
