SIT Searches Home of Thantri Kandarar Rajeevar in Sabarimala Gold Case

 

Alappuzha: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) is conducting a search at the residence of Kandarar Rajeevar in connection with the Sabarimala gold robbery case. The search is being carried out at his house in Chengannur, Alappuzha district. The SIT team reached Thazhamon Madom, the residence of Kandarar Rajeevar, at around 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. The team, which includes forensic officials, arrived to carry out the inspection.

The SIT is primarily looking for information related to financial transactions linked to Unnikrishnan Potti, the first accused in the case. The search began at around 2:50 p.m. At the time, Rajeevar’s wife and other family members were present at the house. An eight-member SIT team is conducting the inspection.

In the Sabarimala gold robbery case, Thantri Kandarar Rajeevar was arrested by the SIT on Friday. He was subsequently remanded to judicial custody. Following this, the Special Investigation Team proceeded to conduct a search at his residence. Earlier, the Thantri had stated that although he knew Unnikrishnan Potti, he was innocent. However, the SIT moved towards his arrest as part of the continuing investigation.

Meanwhile, Kandarar Rajeevar, who is currently in remand, has been admitted to the ICU at the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College. After he experienced health issues, Rajeevar was taken to the medical college for examination. He was shifted to the ICU following the tests.
