These fresh scientific inspections are being conducted with the approval of the Kerala High Court.
Meanwhile, the High Court has ordered another investigation related to Sabarimala. The court directed the Devaswom Vigilance to investigate the financial transactions of employees.
The investigation order follows an SIT report stating that the transactions of employees who worked at Sabarimala during the last Mandala–Makaravilakku season were suspicious. It was found that more than ₹14 lakh was transferred within a short period through the post office alone. The High Court has directed Devaswom Vigilance to collect details of all employees who worked at the Sannidhanam during the Mandala season and submit a report within three weeks. This is the fifth investigation related to Sabarimala in the past five months.
Meanwhile, in the Kattilapali case, KS Baiju was granted statutory bail by the Kollam Vigilance Court after the 90-day custody period was completed. However, he will have to remain in jail as he is under remand in the Dwarapalaka Plating case. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is also intensifying its action in the gold theft case. A summons has been sent to former Devaswom Executive Officer D. Sudheesh Kumar to appear for questioning. Former Devaswom Board President N. Vasu, who was released on bail yesterday, will also be questioned.
