Police officer’s Facebook post revealing ‘secrets’ behind Sabarimala women’s entry removed

Thrissur: The Facebook post written by a police officer who witnessed the Sabarimala young women’s entry incident, describing the “internal games and matters” behind it. The post was removed by Facebook as part of its policy, following repeated requests from several people to take it down. The officer later posted again, alleging that a senior police official had mobilized many people to report the post in order to have it removed.

The post was originally written by C.M. Jyothish, who is currently working abroad while still officially remaining in the Kerala Police records. In the post, he referred to allegations—reportedly mentioned in a suicide note of an SHO in Palakkad—against a senior police officer. He further alleged that the Home Department had protected that officer, and that the reason for this protection was the officer’s assistance in facilitating women’s entry into Sabarimala.

“At the time (2018-2019) when the Sabarimala women’s entry protest was at its peak, I was also assigned duty at the hill shrine. I was posted at the Western Gate. Media personnel and RSS workers were present, watching to see whether women would arrive. One day, between a shift from 1 a.m. to 5 a.m., the police facilitated the entry of women. I personally witnessed those women leaving after darshan through the Western Gate under special police protection.

The officer in charge of the Western Gate, where I was posted, was the above-mentioned senior officer. He was then a Circle Inspector. This is within my knowledge, and he may have carried out several such acts in favour of the then ruling party...”

The post concluded by stating that he should be dismissed from service as soon as possible.
