ADGP P. Vijayan Appointed as Chief Police Coordinator for Sabarimala Security
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala has announced the appointment of ADGP (Law and Order) P. Vijayan as the Chief Police Coordinator (Sabarimala) to oversee and review police security arrangements and related measures for the Sabarimala pilgrimage.
The new appointment is aimed at ensuring smooth coordination of all police operations connected with the annual pilgrimage. The minister said the State Police Chief will soon issue the official order formalising the appointment.
Speaking to the media, the Home Minister also said that the government has not received any reports of serious concerns or complaints related to the Sabarimala pilgrimage so far.
He added that the police department plans to further strengthen security arrangements for pilgrims in the coming days to ensure a safe and smooth pilgrimage season.
