TDB Submits Digital Transformation Progress Report Before Kerala High Court

KOCHI: The Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) has informed the Kerala High Court that Sabarimala will be the first temple to implement the pilot phase of its Enterprise Digital Transformation programme ahead of the upcoming Mandala-Makaravilakku pilgrimage season.

The submission was made before a Division Bench comprising Justices V. Raja Vijayaraghavan and K.V. Jayakumar. The Board said it has sanctioned an advance of ₹15 lakh to meet the initial operational expenses of the Project Management Unit (PMU) overseeing the implementation of the digital transformation initiative.

According to the report, the programme aims to bring greater transparency, operational efficiency, accountability, financial discipline, and improved public service delivery in temple administration.

As part of the project, an AS-IS study will be conducted to assess the Board's existing business processes. Module-wise workshops will also be organised to finalise requirements for key priority areas, including accounts, temple administration, and sales.

The Board further informed the court that it has received No Objection Certificates (NOCs) from the State Government for appointing Rahul A. Raj as the Chief Administrative Officer of the PMU and K.P. Noufal as the Chief Software Architect.

The report added that a formal agreement with Kerala State Electronics Development Corporation Ltd. (Keltron) is being finalised for procuring the hardware required for the project. It also stated that the K-Suite file management system, already used by local self-government institutions across Kerala, has been adopted for the project's day-to-day operations.

After reviewing the report, the Kerala High Court directed the Travancore Devaswom Board to submit a comprehensive project timeline detailing key milestones and expected completion dates so that the court can effectively monitor the progress of the digital transformation programme.
