New Pampa Melshanthis Given Traditional Welcome by Previous Melshanthis
Pampa: Brahmashree S. Girish Kumar and Brahmashree M.S. Sreekumaran Namboothiri, the newly selected Melshanthis of Pampa Devaswom for 2026–27, were honoured by the Melshanthis completing their tenure, T.S. Vishnu Namboothiri and P. Shankaran Namboothiri.
The outgoing Melshanthis, T.S. Vishnu Namboothiri of Thannippillim Mana, Angamaly, Elavoor, and P. Shankaran Namboothiri of Perikamana Illam, Venganoor, Thiruvananthapuram, completed their tenure as the Pampa Melshanthis for 2025–26.
A draw was held after 10 a.m. on Monday at the Pampa Maha Ganapathi Temple to select the Melshanthis for the 2026–27 period.
S. Girish Kumar, Shanthi of Padanaikulangara Devaswom under the Karunagappally Group and a former Keezhsanthi (assistant priest) of the Sabarimala Sree Ayyappa Swamy Temple, was selected as one of the Pampa Melshanthis.
M.S. Sreekumaran Namboothiri, Shanthi of Ambalathubhagam Devaswom under the Karunagappally Group, was selected as the other Pampa Melshanthi.
The newly selected Melshanthis will serve at Pampa Devaswom until the Chingam Masa Pooja period next year.
