Sabarimala Onam Pooja: Virtual Q Tickets Available; Authorities Step Up Sanitation Measures
Pathanamthitta: District Collector A. Nizamuddin has appointed officials to ensure the enforcement of the plastic ban, cleanliness and sanitation measures at Sannidhanam, Pampa and the Nilakkal base camp during the opening of Sabarimala for the Onam Pooja.
Officials have been assigned duties including sanitation supervision, squad leadership, squad membership and licensing-related work at the three locations. The squads will enforce the plastic ban ordered by the Kerala High Court and take action to prevent the sale of prohibited plastic products.
Sanitation supervisors will monitor the cleaning activities carried out by members of the Sabarimala Vishuddhi Sena under the Sabarimala Sanitation Society at Sannidhanam, Pampa and Nilakkal. They will also issue necessary instructions to ensure effective sanitation operations.
Authorities will take strict measures to prevent waste from being dumped into rivers and to ensure the timely removal of waste from Sannidhanam, Pampa and Nilakkal. Pilgrims have been urged not to leave clothes at Pampa, as discarded clothing can pollute the Pampa River and surrounding areas.
