Sabarimala Gold Theft Case: Prime Accused Unnikrishnan Potty Receives Grand Welcome at Bengaluru’s Srirampura Ayyappa Temple

Bengaluru: Unnikrishnan Potty, the prime accused in the Sabarimala gold theft case, received a welcome at an Ayyappa temple in Bengaluru. Potty visited the Srirampura Ayyappa Temple, where he had previously served as a priest.

Those accompanying him welcomed Potty with garlands when he arrived at the temple. He was able to visit the temple after receiving a 20-day relaxation in his bail conditions to participate in religious rituals.

However, temple office-bearers said the temple had no connection with the reception. Unnikrishnan Potty also declined to comment on the matter.

The reception was reportedly organised under the leadership of Ramesh Rao, who had helped Potty seek relaxation of his bail conditions. Rao had also led the team that received the door panels and other wooden components from Sabarimala.

Potty had sought relaxation of his bail conditions citing, among other reasons, the need to perform poojas at Ramesh Rao’s residence.
