Weather Alert: Orange Alert Issued in Pathanamthitta for Next Three Hours
Pathanamthitta: An orange weather alert has been issued for Pathanamthitta district, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) warning of moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds over the next three hours.
According to the weather department's advisory, isolated parts of the district may experience moderate rain with thunderstorms and winds reaching speeds of up to 40 kmph from 10:00 AM on September 21, 2026, for the following three hours.
The district administration has urged the public to remain vigilant in view of the possibility of thunderstorms and strong winds.
People are advised to avoid open areas and taking shelter under trees during thunderstorms. Residents should also exercise caution near potentially dangerous trees and electrical lines, particularly during periods of strong winds.
Motorists and other travellers have been advised to take extra care while travelling during the period of adverse weather.
The alert has been issued based on information from the IMD, Kerala State Emergency Operations Centre (KSEOC) and Kerala State Disaster Management Authority (KSDMA).
