Clearing of Overgrown Bushes Begins on Erumeli Roads; Preparations Intensified for Smooth Pilgrim Travel Ahead of Pilgrimage Season
Erumeli: Ahead of the upcoming Mandala-Makaravilakku pilgrimage season, cleaning and maintenance activities have been intensified along key roads in Erumeli. Work to clear overgrown bushes along both sides of the Karimpanthodu–Erumeli Ring Road, a route widely used by Sabarimala pilgrims, is currently underway.
The overgrown bushes along the roadside had been causing considerable difficulties for motorists and pedestrians. In particular, dense bushes around curves were obstructing visibility and increasing the risk of accidents. With traffic expected to increase significantly along the route during the pilgrimage season, the clearing work is being carried out on a war footing.
Along with clearing the overgrown bushes, work is also underway to remove obstructions from drainage channels and improve the overall safety of the road.
The measures are aimed at ensuring a smooth and safe journey for Ayyappa devotees travelling through the route during the pilgrimage season. Further arrangements, including the restoration of streetlights, are also expected to be completed in the coming days.
