Sabarimala Tractor Contract Delayed; Devaswom Board Announces Fresh E-Tender for October 30
Pathanamthitta: With the Sabarimala Mandala-Makaravilakku pilgrimage season approaching, Aravana prasadam production at Sannidhanam is facing uncertainty due to delays in finalising the tractor transport contract for carrying essential materials from Pampa to Sannidhanam.
The issue arose following a decision by the Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) President to introduce stricter checks on the weight and quality of materials supplied for Aravana production. Under the revised arrangement, suppliers are required to deliver the materials only up to Pampa, where necessary inspections can be carried out.
The Devaswom Board subsequently decided to transport the materials from Pampa to Sannidhanam using tractors at its own expense. However, delays in finalising the tractor transport tender have created uncertainty over the timely movement of essential supplies.
To resolve the issue, the Devaswom Board has scheduled a fresh e-tender for October 30.
With preparations for the Mandala-Makaravilakku season underway, the delay has raised concerns over the uninterrupted supply of materials required for Aravana production at Sannidhanam.
