Facilities to Be Arranged for Sabarimala Pilgrims at Kalaketti
Kaliketti: In connection with the Sabarimala pilgrimage, a decision has been taken to make elaborate arrangements to provide better basic amenities for Ayyappa devotees at the Kalaketty Sabari Pilgrim Centre. Important decisions in this regard were taken at the Sabari Pilgrim Trust General Body meeting.
Considering the rush of pilgrims, essential basic facilities such as drinking water, lighting, and toilets will be further expanded here. The meeting also decided to arrange large temporary shelters (pandals) and rest centers to allow devotees arriving from long distances to rest safely. To take care of pilgrims' health, emergency medical aid will be ensured, making 24-hour services of doctors available. The services of volunteers will also be engaged to manage the crowd.
All preparations will be completed in a time-bound manner so that devotees do not face any difficulties during the pilgrimage season. Instructions have been given to Trust General Body members to work in cooperation with government machinery to ensure a safe and exploitation-free pilgrimage.
Trust Chairman Dr. P. G. Haridas presided over the meeting held at the Kalaketty Sabari Pilgrim Centre. Dr. Savitha inaugurated the meeting. Malayaraya Mahasabha leaders M. K. Saji, P. K. Sanjeev, K. Sanalkumar, Shailaja Narayanan, Ajitha Udayakumar, Prof. T. P. Arun Nath, and C. N. Madhusoodanan spoke at the event.
