Guruvayur Temple to Introduce Daily Virtual Queue Darshan from November 1; ₹25 Booking Fee

Guruvayur: The Guruvayur Devaswom Board has decided to introduce a daily Virtual Queue system for darshan at the Guruvayur Sree Krishna Temple from November 1. The facility, currently available only on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, will be extended to all days of the week.

The Devaswom Board has also decided to charge a fee of ₹25 per Virtual Queue booking. Devaswom Chairman A.V. Gopinath and Administrator S. Harigopal said the fee is being introduced to prevent unnecessary bookings, as several devotees who reserve slots fail to turn up for darshan, denying opportunities to others.

Under the new system, devotees can book for a minimum of one and a maximum of six people in a single booking. Virtual Queue reservations for the following month will open on the 25th of every month.

2,400 Devotees to Get Darshan Daily Through Virtual Queue

On regular days, including public holidays, Virtual Queue darshan will be available in eight slots, with six slots scheduled between 7 AM and 1 PM and two slots in the evening. A total of 2,400 devotees will be allowed darshan through the system each day.

However, on days when Udayasthamana Pooja is performed at the temple, Virtual Queue darshan will be available only in the evening. On such days, 600 devotees will be permitted through two slots scheduled at 4 PM and 5 PM.

The Devaswom Board is also considering introducing an online booking system for Nirmalya Darshan at the temple.

Additionally, the Board plans to move auditorium bookings for cultural programmes to an online platform. A final decision on this proposal is expected at the next Devaswom Board meeting.
