No Concerns Over Sabarimala Preparations, Says TDB President Jayakumar; Daily Virtual Queue Limit to Be Finalised After Talks with Police

Pathanamthitta: Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) President K. Jayakumar has assured that there is no need for concern over preparations for the upcoming Sabarimala Mandala-Makaravilakku pilgrimage season.

Speaking at a high-level meeting convened to review the arrangements, Jayakumar said all construction and maintenance works would be completed by November 10.

He directed officials to ensure strict quality checks on all ongoing works and warned against rushing to complete projects without maintaining proper standards.

The TDB President also confirmed that production of reserve stocks of Aravana and Appam prasadam has already begun to meet the expected demand during the pilgrimage season.

Regarding the much-discussed Virtual Queue booking limit, Jayakumar said a final decision on the number of daily bookings would be taken after consultations with the police.

Meanwhile, Jayakumar also responded to the controversy over Pongal dhotis distributed free of cost through the Tamil Nadu government's ration scheme being found in Irumudikettu prepared at the Devaswom Board's Kettunira centre in Pampa.

When questioned about the incident, Jayakumar expressed his inability to intervene, asking what he could do about the matter.
