Peerumade MLA Inspects Sabarimala Pilgrim Facilities Along Mukkuzhi Forest Route

As part of preparations for the upcoming Sabarimala Mandala-Makaravilakku pilgrimage season, Peerumade MLA Syriac Thomas visited the historically significant Mukkuzhi forest route and Mukkuzhi Temple.

The Mukkuzhi forest route is used by a large number of Ayyappa devotees travelling to Sabarimala. During the visit, the MLA assessed the difficulties faced by pilgrims and reviewed the facilities available along the route.

Speaking on the occasion, Syriac Thomas said that several issues faced by devotees would be brought to the attention of the government and efforts would be made to address them. He said the remaining portion of the road work would be completed at the earliest by securing the necessary funds.

The lack of adequate toilet facilities and limited space for devotees to stay and rest (viri) are among the major concerns at Mukkuzhi. The MLA said these issues would also be taken up with the authorities to improve facilities for pilgrims.

Block Panchayat Vice President John P. Thomas and Panchayat Member Renju Sajimon accompanied the MLA during the visit.
