Vidyarambham Held at Sabarimala on Auspicious Vijayadashami
In a rare occurrence, the Sabarimala Malikappuram temple witnessed Poojayeduppu and Vidyarambham ceremonies after 40 years, as the Thulam month pooja coincided with Vijayadashami this year.
The Poojayeduppu ceremony was held at the Bhagavathi Seva venue at the Malikappuram temple under the guidance of Thantri Kandar Brahmadathan. Later, in the presence of the thantri, Sabarimala Melsanthi E.D. Prasad Namboothiri and Malikappuram Melsanthi M.G. Manu Namboothiri initiated children into learning as part of the Vidyarambham ceremony.
This year's ceremonies were particularly significant as the Thulam month pooja and Vijayadashami coincided after a gap of four decades.
The Sabarimala temple will be closed on 22.10.2026 at 10PM after the completion of the Thulam month pooja rituals.
