Sabarimala Trip Cancelled: President Droupadi Murmu Postpones Kerala Trip
Main Highlights: President Droupadi Murmu cancels Kerala and Sabarimala trip
New Delhi: President Droupadi Murmu's scheduled visit to Kerala and Sabarimala Sree Ayyappa Temple has been postponed due to the ongoing India-Pakistan conflict. The official announcement had earlier confirmed that the President would visit Sabarimala on May 19.
As per the initial plan, President Murmu was set to arrive in Kerala on May 18 to attend the jubilee conference at Pala St. Thomas College, followed by a visit to Sabarimala. The authorities, including the police and the Travancore Devaswom Board, had been informed in advance that the President would visit Sabarimala during the temple's opening for the Idava month pooja.
The Travancore Devaswom Board had implemented restrictions, including limitations on virtual queue bookings for the public, in expectation of President Droupadi Murmu's visit to Sabarimala. These measures have now been lifted following the cancellation of the visit.
