21 Trees to Be Cut Down on Pampa Road; Intelligence Department Conducts Inspection
In anticipation of the visit of President, officials from the Intelligence Bureau Officials carried out a security inspection at Pampa yesterday and later returned. As part of the safety measures, 21 trees that are either dried or in a dangerous condition along the Nilakkal–Pampa route will be cut down by the Forest Department. The inspection was led by Plappally Forester Ajayakumar, and a list of the trees has been submitted to the Goodrical Range Officer. The trees will be felled only after receiving clearance from senior officials.
The Nilakkal helipad has also been inspected by relevant authorities. The designated landing area for the helicopter has been marked with a specific identification number.
According to available information, the President is expected to arrive at Nilakkal by helicopter from Kumarakom on the 19th of this month. From there, she will travel by road to Pampa, tie the Irumudikettu (sacred offering), and climb the hill to the Sannidhanam (sanctum sanctorum) for darshan. It is believed that she will return on the same day after the visit.
There is still uncertainty regarding whether there will be any changes to the plan due to the Indian Army's Operation Sindoor conducted in response to the recent terror attack in Pahalgam. As of yesterday, the Devaswom Board had not received any official notification about the President’s visit, but has nonetheless decided to proceed with the necessary arrangements.
