Demise of Pooradam Nāḷ Kerala Varma, Member of Pandalam Royal Family

Pooradam Nāḷ Kerala Varma Thampuran, an esteemed elder Member of the Pandalam Royal Family, passed away today at the age of 86. He breathed his last at 1:30 PM at his residence in Thrissur.
Kerala Varma Thampuran was the son of the late Uthram Nāḷ Ambalika Thampuratti and Narayanan Namboothiri of Kottayam Kuzhipuram Illam. Known for his quiet dignity, he was a highly respected member of the royal household,
His wife, Smt. Rajeshwari Varma, son Dinesh Varma, and daughter-in-law Saritha Varma.
His siblings include:
Thiruvonam Nāḷ Rama Varma Raja (Valiya Thampuran of Pandalam Palace),
Raghava Varma Raja, Rajeshwari Thampuratti, The late Radha Thampuratti, Rajaraja Varma
As per royal and temple customs, the Pandalam Valiya-koyikkal Sri Dharma Sastha Temple will remain closed for 11 days, observing ritual impurity period following the demise. The temple will reopen on the 12th day, Saturday, June 28, 2025, after performing the purification rites .
