Case Against Shashikala Teacher and Others in Sabarimala Protest Cancelled

Kerala: The High Court has cancelled the police case related to the Sabarimala protest. The case was against K.P. Shashikala Teacher, S.J.R. Kumar, Dr. K.S. Radhakrishnan and former DGP T.P. Senkumar. The High Court has also stopped the proceedings that were going on in the Chittur Magistrate Court.

The court said that continuing the case against them would be a misuse of the legal process. Earlier, the police had given a report to the trial court requesting that these four people be removed from the list of accused.

K.P. Shashikala Teacher is a well-known social activist from Kerala. She came into the limelight during the Sabarimala temple protests, strongly opposing the entry of women of restricted age into the shrine after the Supreme Court verdict in 2018. As the state president of the Hindu Aikya Vedi, she has been actively involved in campaigns and public programs related to temple traditions and Hindu rights. Over the years, she has become one of the prominent voices representing devotees in matters related to Sabarimala.
