Installation of Navagraha Sreekovil at Sabarimala
Sabarimala, July 13, 2025 – The consecration of the Navagrahas (nine planetary deities) in a newly constructed Sreekovil at Sabarimala temple. Thousands of devotees gathered at the Sannidhanam to witness and offer their reverence during the ceremonial proceedings.
The consecration rituals commenced at 11:02 AM during the auspicious Kanni Rashi Muhurta. The day began with the Usha Pooja performed at the Kalasha Mandapam, followed by a series of sacred rituals, including Ashtabandha Lepanam, Brahma Kalashabhishekam, and Kumbhabhishekam. The ceremonies concluded with the Prasanna Pooja and Deeparadhana, marking the completion of the installation rites.
The rituals were led by Thantri Kandararu Rajeevaru and Malikappuram Melshanti Vasudevan Namboodiri, who served as the chief priest for the consecration. The event was graced by the presence of notable dignitaries, including Travancore Devaswom Board member Adv. A. Ajikumar, Devaswom Commissioner B. Sunilkumar, ADGP M.R. Ajithkumar, and Chief Engineer Ranjith Shekhar.
The temple authorities have announced that the sanctum will close at 10:00 PM tonight following the completion of the day's poojas and temple will reopen on 16 july for karkidakam monthly pooja.
