Sabarimala Thantris to Complete One-Year Tenure After Niraputhari Vaibhavam; New Thantri to Assume Charge for 2025–26
The Present Thantris of Sabarimala Temple, Brahmashree Kandararu Rajeevaru and Brahmashree Kandararu Brahmadattan of Thazhamon Madom, are set to complete their one-year term following the upcoming Niraputhari Vaibhavam.
The Niraputhari ritual, which marks the ceremonial offering of the season’s first harvest, will be the final major event under their current tenure.
As present Thantris Family, their role is central to preserving the temple’s tantric traditions. Over the past year, they have successfully overseen all major festivals and rituals, including the Mandala-Makaravilakku season.
Thantri Brahmashree Kandararu Mahesh Mohanararu (Thazhamon Madom) will take charge as the chief Thantri of Sabarimala starting from the Chingam Monthly Pooja (August). He will preside over the rituals and pujas at Sabarimala for the full term of 2025–26
