Sabari Express Upgraded to Superfast Category with New Train Numbers and Revised Timings

 

In a significant update for rail travelers, the Indian Railways has announced that the Sabari Express, previously operating as Train No. 17229/30 between Thiruvananthapuram Central and Secunderabad, has been upgraded from Mail/Express to Superfast category. Additionally, the train has been assigned new train numbers as part of this upgrade, as per the Railway Board order dated July 7, 2025. This change aims to enhance travel efficiency and improve passenger experience on this key route.


Key Changes in the Upgrade

- Superfast Status: The Sabari Express will now operate as a Superfast train, offering faster travel times between Thiruvananthapuram Central, Kerala, and Secunderabad, Telangana.

- New Train Numbers: The train has been renumbered to reflect its Superfast status:

- Train No. 20630: Thiruvananthapuram Central to Secunderabad Sabari SF Express

- Train No. 20629: Secunderabad to Thiruvananthapuram Central Sabari SF Express

- Primary Maintenance Shift: The train’s primary maintenance will now be conducted at Thiruvananthapuram Central, ensuring improved operational efficiency.

- Revised Timings: The Sabari Superfast (SF) Express will operate on an updated schedule to optimize travel time.


New Timetable

The revised timings for the Sabari SF Express are as follows:


- Train No. 20630 (Thiruvananthapuram Central to Secunderabad):

- Departure: 6:45 AM from Thiruvananthapuram Central

-Arrival: 11:00 AM at Secunderabad (next day)


- Train No. 20629 (Secunderabad to Thiruvananthapuram Central):

- Departure: 2:35 PM from Secunderabad

- Arrival: 6:20 PM at Thiruvananthapuram Central
