Melshanthi Draw on October 18
Sabarimala: The Travancore Devaswom Board will conduct the draw to select the Melsanthis of Sabarimala and Malikappuram temples on October 18. The process, held under High Court guidelines, will be fully video-recorded to ensure transparency, and only a limited number of officials will be allowed in the selection area, the court has appointed retired judge Justice T.R. Ramachandran Nair as observer for the election process.
A total of 14 applications have been shortlisted for Sabarimala and 13 for Malikappuram Temple. From each list, one candidate will be selected as the Melshanti for 2025–26. The newly selected Melshantis will take charge on November 16.
