Pathanamthitta, Kerala: President Droupadi Murmu offered prayers at the revered Sabarimala Sree Ayyappa Temple in Kerala today. The President, who is on a four-day visit to the state, arrived in Pathanamthitta from Thiruvananthapuram and proceeded by road to Pampa, the base station of the hill shrine. She was received earlier in the morning by Kerala Devaswom Minister V. N. Vasavan and other senior officials.
At the Pampa Ganapathi Temple, the President performed the customary rituals, including the traditional tying of the Irumudi Kettu, before beginning her journey to the Sabarimala Sannidhanam. She travelled to the hill shrine in a special vehicle arranged for the occasion and had darshan at the Sannidhanam before the conclusion of the noon pooja.
During President Droupadi Murmu’s visit to Kerala, part of the newly built helipad at Pramadam Stadium in Pathanamthitta sank slightly as her helicopter landed. The concrete had been laid only a few hours earlier after a last-minute change in location. Security and rescue teams quickly acted and moved the helicopter safely, allowing the President to continue her Sabarimala visit without any delay.
