Sabarimala Pilgrimage: KSRTC Deploys 191 Buses for Pampa–Nilakkal Chain Service in First Phase

 

The Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) will operate 191 buses in the first phase of the Pampa–Nilakkal chain service during the Sabarimala pilgrimage season. The number of buses will be increased daily based on the flow of pilgrims.


Buses from all depots across the state will be deployed for this service, with the vehicles currently operating on regular routes being reassigned for the Pampa special service.


The special Sabarimala bus service will commence from Chengannur on November 14. The initial allocation of buses from various depots is as follows: Chengannur – 64, Erumeli – 19, Kottayam – 44, Kottarakkara – 22, Pathanamthitta – 23, Kumaly – 15, Punalur – 10, Thiruvananthapuram Central – 8, and Adoor, Aryankavu, Kayamkulam, and Thrissur – 2 each, while Guruvayur depot will operate one bus.


Royi Jacob, Pathanamthitta DTO, has been appointed as the KSRTC Sabarimala Special Officer, and Sunil Kumar, Depot Engineer, Palakkad, will serve as the Assistant Special Officer.
