Two Dolly Workers Arrested for Cheating Pilgrims at Sabarimala by Promising Queue-Free Darshan

Pathanamthitta: Two dolly workers have been arrested for allegedly cheating Sabarimala pilgrims by promising queue-free darshan. The accused, identified as Kannan and Raghu, both hailing from Peerumedu, reportedly extorted ₹10,000 from a group of devotees from Kasaragod.

The incident took place during the Thulamasa pooja when the temple opened recently. The pilgrims were approached by the accused at Marakoottam, while on their way from Pampa to Sannidhanam. Claiming that there was heavy rush at the temple, the dolly workers convinced the devotees that they could reach the sanctum without standing in line if they used the dolly service.

Believing them, the devotees paid ₹10,000 for the service. The workers carried one of the devotees up to Vavarunada, near Sannidhanam, and then disappeared from the spot.

Following the incident, the cheated pilgrims lodged a complaint with the Sannidhanam Police, who arrested the accused. A case has been registered against them for fraud and illegal operation of dolly services within the temple premises.
