More Special Trains Announced by South Central Railway for Sabarimala Pilgrimage
South Central Railway (SCR) will run more special trains to help Ayyappa devotees travel to Sabarimala during the Mandala–Makaravilakku season. These trains will operate from November 17, 2025, to January 20, 2026, on different days of the week.
Train routes and days:
Kakinada Town – Kottayam (07109) will run on Mondays.
Kottayam – Kakinada Town (07110) will run on Tuesdays.
H.S. Nanded – Kollam (07111) will run on Thursdays.
Kollam – H.S. Nanded (07112) will run on Saturdays.
Charlapalli – Kollam (07113) will run on Tuesdays.
Kollam – Charlapalli (07114) will run on Thursdays.
Each route will have nine services in both directions.
Bookings for these special trains will open from tomorrow at 8:00 AM through all IRCTC online platforms and reservation counters.
All special trains will halt at major stations such as Vijayawada, Tirupati, Katpadi, Salem, Erode, Palakkad, Thrissur, Aluva, and Ernakulam, and Kottayam, Chengannur, and will include AC, Sleeper, and General coaches for the convenience of devotees.
The Nanded–Kollam train will not go via Kottayam or Chengannur. Instead, it will reach Kollam through Punalur, from where Sabarimala pilgrims can take buses directly to Pamba. Alternatively, pilgrims can travel from Kollam to Pamba or proceed from Kollam to Chengannur and then to Pamba.
