Southern Railway Announces Special Train for Sabarimala Pilgrims Between Chennai and Kollam
Chennai, November 2025: Southern Railway has announced the operation of a special weekly express train between Dr MGR Chennai Central and Kollam to cater to the heavy influx of devotees traveling to Sabarimala during the upcoming Mandala–Makaravilakku pilgrimage season (2025–26).
The Sabarimala Special Train (Train Nos. 06113/06114) will make 10 round trips between November 16, 2025, and January 19, 2026, providing a convenient and comfortable travel option for devotees from Tamil Nadu and nearby regions.
Train Schedule
Train No. 06113 – Dr MGR Chennai Central to Kollam:
Departs 23:50 hrs on Sundays (from November 16, 2025, to January 18, 2026)
Arrives 16:30 hrs next day (Monday)
Train No. 06114 – Kollam to Dr MGR Chennai Central:
Departs 18:30 hrs on Mondays (from November 17, 2025, to January 19, 2026)**
Arrives 11:30 hrs next day (Tuesday)
The train will halt at major stations including Perambur, Tiruvallur, Arakkonam, Katpadi, Jolarpettai, Salem, Erode, Tiruppur, Podanur, Palakkad, Thrissur, Aluva, Ernakulam, Kottayam, Tiruvalla, Chengannur, Kayamkulam, and Kollam—covering key junctions along the Sabarimala route.

Advance reservations for this special service will open at 08:00 hrs on November 4, 2025 (Tuesday) through all authorized railway booking channels and the IRCTC website.
