Sabarimala Traditional Trek Route Likely to Open Mid-November
The Sacred forest trekking path to Sabarimala — the traditional route via Erumeli, Karimala, and Pampa and Sathram - Pulimedu- Sabarimala — is expected to open around mid-November 2025, coinciding with the start of the Mandala pilgrimage season on November 16 5PM.
Last year, the shrine opened on November 16, 2024, and the forest route became active early in the season.
The Travancore Devaswom Board and the Kerala Forest Department are closely monitoring terrain and weather conditions before granting final clearance. A special tag may be provided to these pilgrims in collaboration with the Forest Department, offering special darshan privileges, similar to the arrangement made last year.
Authorities are expected to issue an official notification in the coming days confirming the exact date for reopening the forest route. Pilgrims are advised to stay updated and avoid trekking during heavy rains.
