Record Revenue at Sabarimala During Mandala Season Despite Drop in Pilgrims

Sabarimala has recorded a historic revenue during the ongoing Mandala season. This year, the total income has reached ₹332.77 crore, marking a significant increase of ₹35.7 crore compared to the previous season.

Out of the total revenue, ₹83.17 crore was received in the form of offerings from devotees. This highlights the continued devotion and generosity of pilgrims visiting the hill shrine.

However, despite the rise in revenue, there has been a noticeable decline in the number of pilgrims. Compared to last year, the number of devotees has decreased by around two lakh. Up to this afternoon, 30,56,871 pilgrims have visited Sabarimala for darshan. During the same period last year, the number stood at 32,49,756.

Authorities note that while footfall has slightly reduced, improved facilities, higher average offerings, and better management may have contributed to the record-breaking revenue this Mandala season.
