Special Pass for Devotees Using Traditional Forest Route to Sabarimala

Pathanamthitta: Devotees who reach the Sabarimala shrine by walking through the traditional forest route via Erumeli will be provided with a special pass starting tomorrow. The pass distribution will take place at Mukuzhi and will be issued by the Forest Department.
This decision addresses a long-standing demand from pilgrims. Devotees who walk more than 50 kilometers to reach the Sannidhanam were earlier forced to stand in queues for several hours after arrival. The introduction of the special pass is expected to eliminate this hardship and provide significant relief to the pilgrims.
Under the new arrangement, devotees arriving via the traditional forest route will be guided from Marakkoottam through Chandranandan Road and the Nadapandal in a separate queue, allowing them to directly ascend the 18 holy steps. This system will come into effect at the Sannidhanam starting tomorrow.
The move has been widely welcomed as it eases the journey for thousands of pilgrims undertaking the sacred trek to Sabarimala.
