Complaint Filed Over Film Shooting on Makaravilakku Day; Inquiry Ordered
Thiruvananthapuram: A complaint has been made that a film was shot at Sabarimala Sannidhanam on Makaravilakku day, breaking the rules. Devaswom Board President K. Jayakumar told media that he received a complaint about a shoot for a new film by director Anuraj Manohar, who earlier made the movie Narivetta.
Jayakumar said that the film team had asked for permission to shoot the Makaravilakku, but it was not allowed. Later, he got a complaint saying the shooting still happened. He has asked the Devaswom Vigilance Superintendent of Police to investigate. Action will be taken after the report comes.
Director Anuraj Manohar, however, said the shooting happened at Pampa, not at the Sannidhanam. He said they had asked permission to shoot at the place where media people usually stand at the Sannidhanam. “Our film is based on the Pampa area. It is true that the Devaswom Board president did not give permission. Later, I met ADGP S. Sreejith at the Sannidhanam. He told us to shoot at Pampa,” the director said. He also said he is ready to face the investigation.
