No Culprit Will Escape in Sabarimala Gold Case, UDF Will Face Setback if Raised in Assembly: CM Pinarayi Vijayan

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan warned that if the Sabarimala gold theft case is discussed in the Assembly, it will become a major setback for the UDF. He revealed that the main accused in the case, Unnikrishnan Potti, has close links with the Congress. He reminded that Unnikrishnan Potti was appointed at Sabarimala in 2004 during the Congress government, and that the Devaswom Minister at that time is now a senior all-India leader of the Congress. The Chief Minister clarified that neither the LDF government nor its leaders are protecting Potti.

The Chief Minister alleged that the current accusations are being raised to tarnish the glory of the Global Ayyappa Meet. He said that the Devaswom Vigilance recovered the pedestal from the house of a relative of Unnikrishnan Potti. Potti had even gained entry to Sonia Gandhi’s high-security residence. The Chief Minister mocked how such access, which is difficult even for ordinary leaders, was made possible, and said people should think about how those who stole the gold and those who bought it are connected to the Congress leadership.

He assured that not a single culprit in the Sabarimala gold theft case will escape and that the Kerala Police will catch even those hiding behind the scenes. No mercy will be shown to the accused. The special investigation team appointed by the High Court has the full support of both the government and the court. The court itself has clarified that the granting of bail to the accused will not affect the case. He added that the government is not interfering in the investigation and that seeking more time to file the charge sheet is only a normal procedural step.
