Notice Issued to Director Anuraj Manohar Over Unauthorized Movie Shoot Near Sabarimala

Film director Anuraj Manohar has been issued a notice for allegedly shooting a movie near Sabarimala without permission on the day of Makaravilakku. The Forest Department sent the notice and asked him to appear before the Plappally Forest Station.

Earlier, the Forest Department had registered a case based on a complaint that a film shoot took place in the Pampa area without approval on the Makaravilakku day. The case includes charges such as trespassing into forest land. The case has been registered under the Ranni forest division.

Officials said they will check whether the shooting happened across the Pampa river inside the Periyar Tiger Reserve area and whether any environmental damage was caused.

The Forest Department had already collected information from Anuraj Manohar and his team. After getting legal advice, they decided to move forward with the case. The main allegation is that the team entered the forest area illegally and caused disturbance to wildlife.

A complaint was also earlier given to Devaswom Board President K. Jayakumar stating that shooting took place at Sabarimala even after permission was denied. He then ordered a vigilance inquiry. However, Anuraj Manohar said the shooting was conducted only in the Pampa area.
