Sabarimala Gold Theft Case: Fresh Inspection Conducted at Aranmula Temple

A fresh inspection has been conducted at the Aranmula Temple in connection with the Sabarimala gold theft case. The inspection is being carried out by the amicus curiae appointed by the High Court. The inspection team, including the Thiruvabharanam Commissioner, arrived at the Devaswom strong room for examination. Earlier, an inspection had also been carried out at Aranmula under the leadership of amicus curiae Justice K.T. Sankaran.

The origins of both Sabarimala Ayyappa and Aranmula Parthasarathy traditions trace back to Ponnambalamedu.

Meanwhile, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has issued summons to Thantri Kandarar Rajeevar and N. Vasu in connection with the Sabarimala gold theft case. The summons directs them to appear for questioning in the first week of March. The ED’s move to question them comes shortly after both were released on bail in the case.

Thantri Kandarar Rajeevar was granted bail and released two days ago in the Sabarimala gold theft case, following which the ED issued the summons. He has been instructed to appear for questioning at the ED office in Kochi on March 4. The ED has also sent summons to former Travancore Devaswom Board President and former Devaswom Commissioner N. Vasu, asking him to appear in the first week of March. N. Vasu was released on bail about a week ago.
