“Everything is safe, the news is false”: Devaswom Board says files related to Sabarimala women’s entry have not gone missing
Thiruvananthapuram: The Travancore Devaswom Board has denied reports claiming that files related to the Sabarimala women’s entry issue have gone missing. In a press release, the Board stated that all files, resolutions, and copies of court proceedings related to the matter are safely preserved.
The Board said the reports published are baseless. Media organizations that carried the news should verify the facts and withdraw the reports. The Board also said that the media has a responsibility to inform the public with accurate information. This was stated in the press release issued by Travancore Devaswom Board President K. Jayakumar and members Adv. K. Raju and Adv. P. D. Santhosh Kumar.
Earlier reports had claimed that several files were found missing when old documents were searched while preparing an affidavit to be submitted to the Supreme Court recently. The reports also stated that the Board had sought copies of case-related documents from the lawyers who handled these cases in order to trace the records.
