Cyber Attacks Against Kandararu Rajeevaru and Thazhamon Madom: Tantri Family Files Complaint with Home Minister
Pathanamthitta: The family of Sabarimala Tantri Kandararu Rajeevaru has lodged a complaint with Ramesh Chennithala, alleging that a coordinated cyber campaign and defamatory propaganda are being carried out against the Tantri and the Thazhamon Madom.
According to the complaint, false news reports and misleading information are being circulated on social media. The family has specifically named an individual identified as Madhumanimala and has sought an official investigation and appropriate legal action.
The complaint, accompanied by a pen drive containing examples of the alleged online content, was submitted in person by Bindu Rajeev, wife of Kandararu Rajeevaru.
Earlier, Kandararu Rajeevaru was arrested by the Special Investigation Team in connection with the Sabarimala gold theft case. After spending 41 days in custody, he was granted bail by the Kollam Vigilance Court on February 18. The court observed that investigators had not been able to establish, at first glance, either a criminal conspiracy or his direct involvement in the alleged offences. Bail was granted in connection with the Dwarapalaka and Kattilappali cases.
Rajeevaru has consistently maintained that his arrest was politically motivated. He alleged that his opposition to the entry of women of menstruating age into the Sabarimala temple contributed to the action taken against him. He stated that, as a custodian of temple traditions and rituals, he opposed changes that, in his view, conflicted with established customs. He also claimed to have opposed proposals for keeping the temple open every day, arguing that these positions ultimately led to his arrest.
The allegations regarding political motives and cyber harassment remain claims made by the Tantri and his family, and any investigation or legal proceedings will determine the facts of the matter.
