Onam Sadya to Be Served to Devotees at Sannidhanam Today
Pathanamthitta: The Onam poojas at the Sabarimala Sree Ayyappa Swamy Temple have brought a festive spiritual atmosphere for devotees. On the occasion of Thiruvonam today, August 26, a special Thiruvona Sadya (traditional feast) will be served to Ayyappa devotees and temple employees at Sannidhanam. Unlike previous years, the Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) is directly organising the feast this year.(sabarimalauptodate.in)
The Sabarimala temple was opened on Monday for the Onam-related rituals. At 5 PM, in the presence of Thantri Kandararu Brahmadathan, Melsanthi E.D. Prasad Namboothiri opened the sanctum sanctorum and lit the ceremonial lamp. He then descended to the Pathinettam Padi and lit the sacred fire in the Aazhi, following which devotees were allowed darshan.
Moderate rainfall has been reported in parts of Pathanamthitta, including the Sabarimala region, amid the ongoing Onam pooja period. The temple will remain open for the scheduled rituals and will close at 10 PM on August 28.
