Former TDB President P.S. Prasanth Hospitalised After Brain Haemorrhage
Thiruvananthapuram: Former Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) president P.S. Prasanth, who was arrested in the Sabarimala gold theft case, has been admitted to Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital following a brain haemorrhage.
Prasanth has been admitted to the Multispeciality Block of the Medical College Hospital. He was lodged in a prison in Thiruvananthapuram following his arrest and reportedly developed health complications while in custody. Further details about his current health condition have not been released.
Prasanth was arrested by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) on July 23 in connection with the case involving the removal of the Sabarimala Dwarapalaka panels for gold plating in 2025.
According to the SIT, the transportation of the Dwarapalaka idols to Chennai in 2025 was part of a conspiracy to conceal the alleged gold theft that took place in 2019. The investigation also found the involvement of the then Devaswom Board leadership in granting the administrative approvals required for the process and handling the related file procedures.
