Keralam Government, TDB to Work Together for Smooth Upcoming Sabarimala Mandala-Makaravilakku Pilgrimage Season

Thiruvananthapuram: Keralam Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan on Wednesday said the state government would work in coordination with the Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) to ensure a smooth and hassle-free pilgrimage for devotees during the upcoming Mandalakala-Makaravilakku season at Sabarimala.
Speaking at a press conference in Thiruvananthapuram, Satheesan said the government and the TDB would jointly identify and implement effective measures to facilitate the pilgrimage and address the requirements of devotees.
“Meetings will be held in Thiruvananthapuram and Pamba as part of these preparations. I will attend some of the meetings, and board officials have also been invited. Everyone will work together. Directions have been issued to hold the meetings from today onwards,” Satheesan said.
The Mandalakala-Makaravilakku pilgrimage season at Sabarimala is scheduled to begin in mid-November and continue until the third week of January next year. The coordination meetings are expected to focus on preparations and arrangements required to manage the large influx of devotees during the pilgrimage season.
Meeting on Sabarimala Development Authority
Meanwhile, the first meeting to discuss the formation of the proposed Sabarimala Development Authority will be held on September 11 at the chamber of Devaswom Minister K. Muraleedharan.
Officials from the Travancore Devaswom Board and various government departments associated with Sabarimala are expected to participate in the meeting.
The meeting is expected to discuss the proposed structure and functioning of the Development Authority and matters related to Sabarimala's development and infrastructure.
